see differently, think differently

It’s been a while

Posted by: Gilang on: November 27, 2009

It is been time. yup, it is been a while.

Finally I have this strength and courage to start writing again, even though I am not sure it is going to be a continuous things that I would do.

From now on I will try to write and talk about everything that glance in my mind. Current issues lately in my country is more about “cicak dan buaya”, “SBY slow making decision”, and others political issues.

However, what make my eyes move onto different spot was about dollar has reached the lowest level after 14th years against Japanese yen. My analysis when this thing happen it will impacts on total value of Japanese export to US, since their economy was very dependent by the export activities.

I am concerns about the next wave of financial crisis that will took a different forms and ways that will start hitting the east Asia country like Japan and Korea.

Japan as the most powerful country in Asia, been spending a lot of their foreign investment to Indonesia. If this crisis really happen, Indonesia need to start looking for new market access and arrange new economic cooperation with China or India, that will be the next BIG things after Japan. In terms of developing countries, Indonesia is now growing massively but without strong fundamental planning. Infrastructure and beraucracy reform is the answers of Indonesia future development.

Going Concern

Posted by: Gilang on: March 18, 2009

Talking about my grad school, means learned about Accounting . A lot of terms and principles that made me confused. One of the thing was “Going Concern Principle”. When I took my Basic Accounting lecture, I learned how to remember but not to understand. However, I learned the important thing after I knew the examples. So, to know more about it, I give you an easy example, by using current condition. I took it from my VC Experts mail. Please have a quick peek, and hope you understand it.

Things have changed. Just a few years ago, who would have questioned the going-concern status of General Motors, a company founded in 1908 that has grown to become the second largest automaker and was the annual global industry sales leader for 76 years. This month, General Motors disclosed that “If we fail to obtain sufficient funding for any reason, we would not be able to continue as a going concern and could potentially be forced to seek relief under the U.S Bankruptcy Code.”

The number of “going concern” warnings by corporate auditors could hit an all-time high in 2009, as the recession has put the survival of hundreds of companies in doubt according to the chief executive of the accounting firm, Grant Thornton.

Crazy Rules

Posted by: Gilang on: March 13, 2009

Living in Jakarta is a quite stressful experience for me or maybe everyone who lived here.

Jakarta, as a capital city, is populated more than 8 million people with only has an area of 661.52 square kilometers (around 12,000 person/sqr meter). So, can you imagine what kind of experience that you will face everyday, if you drove a car to your work? Even myself who doing it for 5 days in a week, still can’t believe I’m doing it.

I woke up every morning at 5.30. Go to work around 6.15 and spent my damn 2 hours in the street to get to my office, which is it will only takes around 45 minutes if you drove in Sunday morning. The problem is, I don’t  really matter with the long hour that I spent, but more with the trafic condition. Especially my experience dealing with motorcyclist.

If I can give you an illustrations, they just look like ‘Water in a labyrinth ‘. Always trying to find spaces to go through. Doing their acrobatic maneuver without looking their mirror if they want to cross between the line. It made me crazy.

And you know what? Sometime I do have this evil mind. If I was allowed to make a rule about punishment for bad motorbike driver, I will make the rule as crazy as this “Every car driver who saw motorbike driving irresponsibly,  they are allowed to crash their own car to them with maximum speed around 80 km/hr, and with minimum injured broken leg and broken arm”

Pesan untuk aksi mahasiswa yang anarkis

Posted by: Gilang on: June 24, 2008

Hidup Mahasiswa!!!
